Tulle's plaid military jacket combines two hot looks!

Two of this season's hottest trends combine to create this chic, plaid military jacket from Tulle. Three quarter length sleeves update the traditional fit to give it a more contemporary look. Two rows of shiny black buttons compliment the colors and style. You'll get a bright splash of color from the satiny gold lining inside. Even though very few people will see it, you'll feel a lot sassier knowing that it's there!

The simple black and gray plaid can be dressed up for a business meeting with a wide leg pant and camisole or can be given a more casual look with a tank, dark skinny jeans and tall boots. With such a classic color combination, the possibilities are pretty endless. We love the idea of layering this over a feminine top like a satin or a silk. It would soften the strong lines of the jacket and bring in a little color as well.

As with most Tulle jackets, their military jacket is medium to light weight. What this means is that it can be worn as a winter coat here in the south, but is more of a layering piece or spring/fall jacket in colder climates. No matter what your temperatures are, you are bound to love this unique Tulle jacket!

Military Jackets Are Essential for Fall

Open up the pages of any of your favorite fashion magazines and you are sure to find a style spread or a celebrity siting involving one of this season's key fashion pieces, the military jacket. Largely inspired by the death (and more importantly, fashion) of Michael Jackson, the military jacket reemerged this season in a variety of forms.

It is easy to go overboard and look like you just stepped off of the bandstand, but with the right jacket, you can go from band geek to super chic. First of all, if you are going vintage with an old military jacket, look for one with simple, clean lines. Too much fluff adds bulk to your body and honestly, is hard to look at. What will make the biggest difference is finding one that really fits or altering it if needed. Wearing a military jacket that is too big is just awkward looking.

If you're looking for a new military jacket, our favorite jacket is the Military Jacket by Dex. What's unique about it, is that it is a soft knit jacket. It's like slipping on a sweatshirt. It has just enough structure to give you a true military look, but is soft enough that you'll want to wear it all of the time. The grayish green color is perfect with denim, especially darker denim.

No matter what type of military jacket you choose, you can be sure that you'll be in style this season!

Skecher's Keepsake- Blur is winter's coziest boot!

Good news for boot lovers- boots have never been hotter than they are this fall or winter! With this season's emphasis on leggings and skinny jeans, boots are the perfect accessory. Boots add warmth, comfort and are as varied this season as our personalities.

The new Keepsake - Blur by Skechers is one of this year's comfiest boots. It is like wearing your coziest knit socks with a rubber sole that allows you to wear your favorite "socks" anywhere. The heels and toes are trimmed out to keep your feet dry and to help your boots last longer. Fur trim and drawstrings add style.

Not only do these Skecher's boots add a little burst of style to any outfit, but they also can make a skinny pant look more flattering on rounder figures. Because they add volume below the knee, they tend to balance out fuller hips. The contrast in size from your hips to your ankles is not so sharp when you wear boots over your skinny jeans and leggings.

This style comes in gray, black and chocolate brown so if you love them, you can collect them all! Click here to find out more!

Vests are a fun accessory for fall!

Fall's arrival brings with it a rich pallette of changing leaves, cooler nights, hayrides and bonfires. These are just a few of my favorite things since fall is the season in which I thrive! I love layering sweaters, jackets, knits and vests both for fashion reasons and just the pure comfort of being completely covered in soft cottons and wool.

This season, one of my favorite layering pieces is the vest. These adorable zip up styles are perfect for layering over a light sweater or thermal to wear to a football game. They're light enough to wear over a tee to go shopping or to school.

Another great thing about choosing a vest is that it is an easy way to try out another trend like faux leather, denim accessories, plaid or menswear. Vests are as much an accessory as they are a piece of clothing so your look gets an injection of your favorite trend in a small dose.

The faux leather style shown here is a bomber type jacket with knit trim by Jolt. It's only $36, so you can definitely afford the matching black knee boots and skinny jeans! The buffalo check vest is a hooded flannel style by Jack for BB Dakota. It is lined, and trimmed in black. Because of the neutral color palette, you could wear this with just about any color top.

Try a fashion vest or a timeless style to add a little warmth and a fashion boost to your wardrobe! It's so simple and incredibly affordable.

Vintage Inspired Tulle Jackets Are Back for Fall/Winter 2009!

Tulle is THE brand for contemporary, stylish jackets and sweaters for women. Their jackets have sold to ladies from tween age to those in their 60's depending on the jacket. The one thing that they all have in common is an eye for fashion whether it is classic or trendsetting or a little of both.

Some of our favorite pieces for fall include this adorable plaid jacket in a mustard yellow. It has a plaid design woven into it in fuchsia and grape purple. The bell sleeves and belted waist add the perfect finishing touches to this denim friendly jacket.

Our best selling style for the last couple of years has been Tulle's Vintage Wool Coat. Each year it is updated with new colors, buttons, seam placement and lining. It's classic shape and timeless design make this a favorite for a variety of women. Although it is part wool, the material is fairly lightweight. Here in the south, it makes a great winter coat, and in cooler climates, it's the perfect jacket for cold, windy days when you need a tightly woven fabric that will cut through the wind. One of the best things about this coat is the wide range of colors in which it is available. These vibrant colors will brighten your mood on a dreary day while turning up the volume on your signature style.

Don't forget about Tulle's other specialty- sweaters. They have a fantastic selection of both lightweight and chunky sweaters for fall that are perfect for layering. Some can even be worn year round! Whatever you choose from Tulle, we are confident you'll walk away feeling like you got a product that combines value and style in a special way.

Mad for Plaid- Tops & Blouses for Fall!

Plaid is back for Fall in a big way! I've seen plaid tops, tees, pants, skirts, shoes, handbags and accessories for fall in a variety of colors from bright blue to hot pink to neon yellow. This trend seems to have touched every corner of our wardrobes. Not since the mid 90's has plaid made such an impact on the younger, trendier demographic and it's about time! (Can you tell I like plaid?)

The great thing about this trend is that it is so simple to incorporate into your current closet, no matter what size you are or what your budget may be. For the smaller junior, I love the new Dollhouse Buffalo Check Tops which retail under $30! They have both long and short sleeve versions in blue, red and yellow. Pair them with a cami and a dark blue pair of jeans and you're set! Vintage Havana also has a collection of trendier plaid tops with unique details. For the more contemporary customer, Tulle has several beautiful plaid jackets in feminine colors and weaves and we will soon be receiving a few styles of jackets & coats from BB Dakota.

If you are more hesitant to wear plaid, you might consider a handbag or tote bag like the one from Fashion Express. You can also grab a plaid scarf or add a some style to your outfit with a pair of kicks in a funky buffalo check or tartan. In addition, you might consider a plaid bangle bracelet or acrylic earrings for just a touch of this look. Once you give it a try, you might just find yourself going back for bigger and bolder plaids!
